Daisy and I are at home today as she was sick yesterday and we have to wait 48 hours before she can go back to school. She's feeling fine now and is enjoying spending the day with me at home. So far today we have had pancakes for breakfast (Daisy didn't like them as I made a batch last week and froze them meaning they were no longer fluffy - note to self, make fresh from now on). We went and got a bit of food shopping to fit in with our new dinner time meal planner so tonight is homemade pizza.
I am using 2 meal planning services now - one for lunch and another for dinner. I have been following the lunches for just over a week now and it is working out really well. Daisy doesn't really like sandwiches and the school say the lunch has to be healthy so I was really stuck as to what to put in each day...hence getting ideas from the meal planner! So far her favourite has been the raisin cinamon bread with cream cheese and apples. Today she wasn't too keen on all the salad in the wrap I made her, or the yoghurt with peanut butter, chocolate and honey, but over time hopefully she will get used to new things....at least she's willing to try. Plus I loved it all!
I just signed up to the dinnertime meal planner last night so today is the first day. I will let you know how it goes.
So now Daisy has finished styling her dolls hair ready for the make believe pageant and we are going to head out to the park. It's been great spending these 2 days together and just what she needed given the upheaval in our lives recently. At least I have been able to show her that Mummy loves her and that even though it's a struggle to fit work/school/childminder/dancing/everything else in, we still get to spend time together.
